For most minor procedures under local anesthesia, fasting is not required. You can eat and drink normally before your appointment. However, if sedation is planned or if there's any possibility of converting to a more extensive procedure, we may recommend fasting. Specific instructions will be provided during your pre-procedure consultation.
We use local anesthesia to numb the area completely before starting any procedure. You may feel a slight pinch during the injection, but once the area is numb, you should not feel pain. Some pressure or movement sensation is normal but not painful. We ensure your comfort throughout the procedure.
Recovery time varies depending on the procedure. Most minor surgeries have minimal downtime. You can usually return to normal activities within a day or two, though strenuous activities may need to be avoided for a week or more. We provide specific post-operative care instructions for your particular procedure.
All surgical procedures leave some form of scar, but our surgeons use techniques to minimize scarring. We make incisions along natural skin lines when possible and use fine suturing materials. Proper wound care and avoiding sun exposure during healing can also help minimize scarring. Most scars fade significantly over time.
